Jekyll, a BBC horror/drama from 2007. A brief summary from BBC's youtube page:
"Part conspiracy thriller, part comic horror, Steven Moffat's modern take on the Robert Louis Stevenson classic takes the ultimate tale of inner conflict to unforgettable new heights. It is 2007 and there's a new Dr Jekyll, with an old problem - Mr Hyde. But the pair have a deal - a body share - and an impossible life is somehow lived. What Hyde doesn't know is that Jekyll is married. There's a wife and two children he'll do anything to protect from his dark side. With all the resources of modern technology, and the best surveillance hardware, Jekyll is determined to keep his dangerous alter ego in check by doing a deal - with his own devil. What neither of them know is that an ancient organisation, with limitless wealth and power, is monitoring their every move, and a plan over a century in the making is coming to fruition. The return of Dr Jekyll is no accident..."
Here's a trailer:
As you can see, it stars everyone's favorite Irish darling, James Nesbitt (it was his birthday yesterday, by the way. So ya know). And let me tell you, he is freaking, unbelievably spectacular in it. Nesbitt manages to switch perfectly between characters; he plays both the quiet, controlled Tom Jackman and the insane, murderous, ridiculously sexy Hyde/Billy. The dude is seriously talented in ways I can't even imagine.
Here's my favorite clip. This is the first point in the show that Jackman lets Hyde out.
But seriously, Nesbitt is such a talented actor, and just gorgeous to boot.
Anyhoo, I can't find any find any full episodes online, but the show was only six episodes long. Tragic, I know, but hey, at least it won't take long to get through.
Dudes, my head just decided to go whacked out fangirl and stick Bofur and Jackman together. Our sweet, darling, kind hearted dwarf turns into Hyde every night. Or every few nights during the journey Bofur rides for a few hours away from the company and changes. (And one night he doesn't get far enough away, and my OC follows him, and he sneaks up on her and holds a knife to her throat til he realizes who she is, and then gets terribly turned on by the idea of defiling something so delicate that belongs to his other half, and then I get to write non-con/dub-con smexytimes, and... Sorry. I got carried away.)
It's terrifying. I love it.
Honestly though, I'd love to try writing that scene but I've never even attempted smut, so... Methinks it would not be pretty. Very "insert tab A into slot B and moan." Booooooring.
On an unrelated note my director- friendly lady, late thirties, mother of... four? five? Something like that) is making booze and ass jokes. I love my theatre people.
"Shut up, Oz!"
Well. And this had been such an orderly post to begin with.
