Flailing and Mutters

We just watched a clip from the trailer for A Haunted House, the parody of Paranormal Activity. At one point this chick holds her arm out to a guy, maybe a rabbi, and says "connect the cuts" all exorcist-style. He whips out a butterfly knife and carves them into a winning tic tac toe board. C2 looked at me and was all like "now that's the way to cut, cut a tic tac toe board in your arm." I just about fell over from the irony; I actually have a tic tac toe board in my upper arm.

C2 and I are discussing socially unacceptable porn, hentai, the dark side of the Internet, and fetishes. Sadly enough, this is not the strangest conversation we've ever had. I love that he and I can talk about the weirdest shit in complete objectivity with absolutely zero awkwardness.

Tolkien is well known and adored for fleshing out his universe to an almost ridiculous extent. From what I understand, the concept of dwarves only loving once in their lifetime is directly from Tolkien himself, making it a totally valid fandom kink. I think that's the only reason I ship Durinbros; I love the idea of soul mates, and there's so much potential for angst with them. (Don't believe in soul mates though, or love at first sight. Or love period. Or monogamy, really. Science can explain them all away, reducing things to lust and instincts. Kinda ruins the romance for me, but my inner girl likes to pretend.)

On a similar note, I'm totally falling for Bofur, just a little bit. He's just so sweet and adorable. Everybody's term for him, 'ridiculously lovely', is perfect. I like how all of the art for him is either him laughing his ass off, smiling kindly, or playing his flute. (Though my personal favorite is this:
