Scheduled Meal Times Are So Annoying

I mean, really. At my house(s) we generally have breakfast whenever we get up as long as it's before 1130 or so. Lunch is typically between 1130 and 1300; at dad's house we scrounge for our own food and fix something for the littles, but mom almost always decides to make something. Supper is around 1800, being the biggest meal of the day and the one that we all try to have together.

I hate strongly dislike this. When I have control over my meals I eat an hour or two after I get up, some time in the middle of the afternoon, and then whenever I get hungry. I'm never actually hungry when we schedule meal times; it's either too early or too late.

Unfortunately, family meal time always comes with that pesky unmentioned but strongly implied mandatory attendance. We're expected to sit down with the family at 6pm and eat a huge, protein filled meal when most days I'd rather wander downstairs at 8, make some hot chocolate, and raid the fruit bowl.

Social obligations suck.
